Tokyo: $4 bln aid likely for Pakistan in donors' conference

Japan's share in the total aid would be 1 billion dollars According to an official of Japan foreign office, Japan's target would be to collect 4 billion dollars for Pakistan which would be provided to it over the next two years. Japanese media says Japanese government would pledge 1 billion dollar to Pakistan for war against terrorism and its economic stability. Cash-strapped Pakistan will outline its medium-term strategies to fight the insurgency and revive its economy at a Friends of Pakistan group meeting in Tokyo on Friday morning. In the afternoon, those friends, who include the United States, Japan, China and Saudi Arabia, will join other donors to promise aid for the next two years.
