War planes pound militants' hideouts in Kabal
 [Geo News] Security forces backed by fighter aircrafts pounded suspected militants' positions situated in different parts of Kabal tehsil as operation continued on Friday for the 12 consecutive days in restive Swat valley. Earlier in the day, militants blew up an other girls' school with explosive material in Kanju area, while unknown assailants robbed a private bank in Mingora city. Amid security concerns, all public and private banks were closed for an indefinite period in Swat. While curfew is still in force in District Swat for an indefinite period of time. In Lowe Dir, curfew will remain in force from 8pm to 6am. Meanwhile, helicopter gunships carried out bombardments on militants' positions in Chakadra Gulabad place.Posted by: Fred 2009-05-09 |
