Romania, Hungary summon Iran ambassadors
[Iran Press TV Latest] Romania says it has summoned the Iranian ambassador to express serious concerns about the latest post-election unrest in the country. Bucharest summoned Hamid Reza Arshadi on Tuesday and voiced its "concern regarding the attitude of the authorities in Tehran towards the protests in Iran," AFP reported. The Romanian government also rejected Tehran's claim of Western meddling as "unacceptable and baseless." Meanwhile, Hungary also summoned Iran's ambassador on Wednesday to express concern over Tehran's restrictions on foreign media. Earlier, several European countries including Britain, France, Sweden and Finland had summoned Iran's ambassadors in their countries to express their concern over the situation in Iran. The Iranian government has lashed out at "meddling" by Western nations -- particularly the United States and Britain -- and accused the foreign media of fomenting the unrest that followed the June 12 presidential election in Iran.
