Argentina declares emergency after swine flu found in pigs
Argentina's government declared on Friday a national sanitary emergency due to the presence of the new H1N1 flu virus in pigs. Earlier this month, animal health officials said workers at a pig farm in Buenos Aires province were suspected of having passed the new strain onto the animals.Despite the apparently ironic headline, this is something that you need to pay attention to. I suspect this is what happened in Kansas in 1918. When it jumped back to humans a previously mild strain became the pandemic killer.
