On Patrol with "America's Battalion"
Dehydration, sleep deprivation, boots soggy with sweat, 100 pounds of gear and 15 miles in 126-degree heat. U.S. Marines with the 2nd Battalion, 8th Regiment; on foot and under fire in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. Members of Golf Company pushed deep into the heart of the Helmand River Valley in an attempt to secure this part of the country in advance of the Afghan elections in August.
