Three injured in violence in Karachi's Lyari
[Dawn] At least three people were injured in an exchange of fire between two groups in Karachi's Lyari area late on Tuesday.According to police, the clash was triggered when a key member of the Lyari Peace Committee, Abdul Rauf Baloch was attacked by unknown assailants. The Lyari Peace Committee has been instrumental in bringing back normalcy to the violence-hit area. Criminal gangs have fought for control over Lyari for a long time. The latest round of violence is the first after the death of Rehman Dakait and marks the rise of a renewed mistrust between rival criminal gangs.
