Wild boars attack Palestinian lands in Salfit
Ma'an -- Wild boars entered the residential areas of Salfit, destroying Palestinian farmland and causing the loss of crops, locals reported Wednesday. Head of agricultural workers in the Salfit district Khalil E'mran, said "herds of big boars attacked the farmland near the village of Al-Matwi destroying fig trees and vine groves." He urged a swift removal of the boars for fear they might be carrying the swine flu virus. E'mran noted that herds of boars like these have been causing massive losses to Palestinian farmers year after year destroying walls, gardens, trees and even injuring three residents over the past few years.
