Criminals shoot woman failing to get toll
[Bangla Daily Star] The daughter of a real estate company owner was injured in a gun attack by some criminals at the city's Mirpur last night allegedly due to her father's refusal to pay toll money."Toll" in Bangla = "grease." Injured Suriya Jalal Sumi, 26, an expatriate in Italy and daughter of Saptasindhu owner Jalal Ahmed, was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with a bullet injury in her back. Family sources said three unknown persons pressed the doorbell of Jalal's residence in Mirpur-2 around 10:00pm. As his daughter Sumi opened the door, the criminals fired a gunshot at her. The criminals soon fled the house leaving a piece of paper containing a mobile phone number, family members said.
