Gunmen kill top Sadrist leader in north Iraq
 [Iran Press TV Latest] A senior commander of the Sadrist Movement has been fatally shot in a house in southeastern Kirkuk. "The police received reports that unidentified assailants targeted a man with silencer-equipped gun and shot him dead in front of his house in al-Asra neighborhood of southeastern Kirkuk at 08:30 p.m. local time (1730 GMT) on Sunday night," Colonel Anwar Qadir told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. He said the victim was Hadi Luaybi al-Zuhaibawi -- a leader in the Sadrist Movement and president of the Southern Tribes Assembly in Kirkuk Province. The terrorist attack took place on the same day that Iraqi security forces killed a top military commander with links to the terrorist al-Qaeda network in Salaheddin Province. Police and Sahwa fighters came under heavy fire at a farm between Samarra and Baghdad and engaged in a gunfight with militants which led to the death of Hazim Ismail. Hazim Ismail -- also known as Abu Janna, 35 -- had been wanted since 2005 for kidnappings and murders.
