Haniyeh discusses Israels siege with Gaddafi
[Ma'an] De facto Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh spoke with Libyan leader Mu'ammar Gaddafi of the crippling Israeli siege on Gaza during a telephone conversation on Sunday, according to the Hamas affiliated Palestinian Information Center.
The Gaza government's prime minister discussed the various Israeli policies in Jerusalem aimed at "Judaizing" the city and the continued confiscation of Palestinian land in the West Bank, calling on Arab and Muslim countries to exert further pressure to stop Israeli violations, PIC said.
Additionally, Gaddafi expressed his appreciation for the Palestinian people, and reportedly promised to examine the support his country can offer to the besieged people of the Gaza Strip.
As a delegation of members of the Palestinian Reconciliation Committee arrive in Cairo on Sunday to discuss the Egyptian proposal aimed at bringing an end to Fatah-Hamas rivalries, PM Haniyeh told Gaddafi that Hamas was willing to reach an agreement for Palestinian unity.
Haniyeh thanked Gaddafi for Libya's support of the Palestinian people and of the Arab cause.
