Algeria rejects Copenhagen summit call for new energy tax
[Maghrebia] Algeria will not support the new taxes on hydrocarbons proposed by the UN Conference on Climate Change in Copenhagen, Denmark, Tout sur l'Algerie quoted Algerian Environment Minister Cherif Rahmani as saying on Monday (December 7th). "It is inconceivable that the South agree to new taxes," Rahmani said on national radio Chaine 3. "Much has changed but we have not achieved our objectives. We will continue... for the voice of Africa to be heard," the minister added.
