Dems shy from Griffith challenge
Democrats are still in search of a candidate to take on newly Republican Rep. Parker Griffith (Ala.)Public Service Commissioner Susan Parker's name rose to the top when state Agriculture Commissioner Ron Sparks said no to the race, but she said Wednesday that she won't run either. And the other top non-Sparks option, 2008 state Supreme Court nominee Deborah Paseur, is unlikely to run, according to the Doc's Political Parlor blog -- a respected source of political news in Alabama.
