Israeli airstrikes on Gaza hit weapons shop, 3 tunnels
Gaza City (CNN) -- Israel launched four airstrikes in Gaza on Thursday, targeting a weapons shop and two smuggling tunnels, the Israeli Defense Forces said. A third tunnel, described as a "terror tunnel" with access to Israel, also was hit, an IDF spokeswoman said.

At least one Palestinian was killed and four others were injured from the airstrikes on two tunnels in the southern town of Rafah, according to Hamas security sources. No casualties were reported from airstrikes in Gaza City and Khan Younis, the sources said.

The sources said a secret metal shop used to make Qassam rockets was hit in Gaza City. IDF confirmed the strike. The IDF spokeswoman said the airstrikes were in response to a series of rockets and mortar shells fired into Israel earlier Thursday. She said four mortars struck the Kerem Shalom humanitarian-aid crossing on the tip of southern Gaza, forcing authorities to close it and prevent 70 trucks carrying fuel and other aid from entering Gaza.
