Rest at link.Barred from using lead in children's jewelry because of its toxicity, some Chinese manufacturers have been substituting the more dangerous heavy metal cadmium in sparkling charm bracelets and shiny pendants being sold throughout the United States, an Associated Press investigation shows. What is wrong with these people? What is wrong with people who buy from these people? Enjoy the problems that your government are tacitly nurturing. Heaven forbid that we should just test anything that comes inside our borders and just make the importer responsible for the cost of any testing and getting their money back from the manufacturer for any defective goods. They can pass it along to the consumer. And also heaven forbid that anyone can come up with some kind of registry that keeps track of adherence to product safety laws.
