Seven injured as fire breaks out in Rafah tunnel

The seven injured were taken to An-Nasser and Ash-Shifa hospitals in Gaza City to undergo treatment for their injuries, sources at the Abu Yousef Najjar hospital told Ma'an. In December three Palestinians were killed after a tunnel collapsed beneath the Egypt-Gaza border. The three were reported missing, and later found by rescue workers. Smugglers maintain a large network of underground tunnels along the Rafah border, importing Accidents in the tunnels are frequent. According to the Palestinian human rights organization Al-Mezan, 120 people have been killed working in the tunnel trade since its inception approximately three years ago.
