Reports: Bayh Will Not Seek Re-Election
Sen. Evan Bayh will announce Monday that he will not seek re-election, sources say. Bayh scheduled a Monday afternoon news conference to announce the decision, CNN reported and the Washington Post reported. Bayh had been under scrutiny in recent weeks, and Republicans felt that they could pick up his Senate seat. Former Sen. Dan Coats is among Republicans seeking to win that party's nomination.
