Unrest returns to Kyrgyzstan
[Iran Press TV Latest] Supporters of ousted Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev have broken into a regional government office in the country's volatile south. Hundreds of Bakiev's supporters broke into a government office in Jalalabad on Saturday, demanding the ousted president's return. They briefly took the regional governor hostage. Reports say protesters also beat up the interior minister of Kyrgyzstan's interim government. Bolotbek Sherniyazov was attacked as he tried to speak to local police officers in Jalalabad. Kyrgyzstan is still tense as the interim government tries to extend its grip on power. Tension has been running high since Friday, when the ousted president handed in his resignation.
