Pakistan cleansed of all dictators: Zardari
President Asif Ali Zardari said on Wednesday that following the passage of the 18th Amendment, the country had been cleansed of all dictators. Zardari also claimed that all conspiracies that had previously been hatched against the PPP, had now failed. Speaking to a gathering in the city of Bahawalpur, the PPP co-chairperson said that his party had managed to achieve 80 per cent of its election manifesto. Zardari added that with the introduction of the 18th Amendment, the Constitution of Pakistan had been restored to the original form it took in 1973. The President said that under the current democratic set-up, the actual power in the country belonged to the people.
