Car bomb leaves 23 casualties in Baghdad
 BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: At least five people were killed and 18 others were wounded in a car bomb blast in western Baghdad on Friday, according to a security source.A car rigged with explosives went off on Friday morning (July 9) near an army checkpoint in al-Aamiriya neighborhood in western Baghdad, killing five persons, including three soldiers and two civilians, and injuring 18, including two soldiers and 16 civilians, the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. The blast damaged a number of civilian vehicles, he added, without giving further details.
