Tikrit attack casualties up to 18
SALAH EL-DIN / Aswat al-Iraq: Casualties from the car bomb explosion in central Tikrit on Thursday went up to 6 dead and 12 wounded, according to a security source.
The car bomb explosion in front of al-Enab restaurant in al-Arbayeen street, central Tikrit, killed six, including four policemen, and injured 12 civilians, the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
The blast set a number of stores and three civilian vehicles ablaze, he added.
Tikrit, the capital of Salah el-Din, lies 175 km north of Baghdad.
