B'desh removes Maududi's books from libraries
The Bangladesh government has ordered tens of thousands of mosques and libraries to remove books written by Syed Abul Ala Maududi, founder of the Jamaat-e-Islami, Shamim Mohammad Afjal, head of the state-run Islamic Foundation, said on Saturday. He said that the books written by Maududi were deemed anti-Islamic and likely to foster militancy.
