Man looking for Ghost Train hit by real one
REDELL COUNTY, N.C. -- A man was hit by a train and killed while looking for a legendary ghost train that is said to haunt the Bostian Bridge, near Buffalo Shoals Road in Iredell County.
Now he can ride the Ghost Train...
A group of about 12 amateur ghost hunters were on the train trestle at about 2:45 a.m. Friday, according to the Iredell County Sheriffs Office.

They were there in hopes of seeing a ghost train that crashed on the Bostian Bridge on Aug. 27, 1891. Legend has it that the ghost train returns to haunt the tracks on the anniversary of the crash, which killed 30 people and injured many others.

A Norfolk Southern train rounded the bend and several people were caught on the trestle, deputies said. Most of them managed to get out of the trains way, but 29-year-old Christopher Kaiser was hit and killed, deputies said.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing. Deputies said they are looking for additional witnesses who left the scene after the accident.
