30 NG Arrive At U.S.-Mexico Border - ROE: Surveillance and 'Be A Deterrent'
30 National Guard employees ordered to protect the U.S.-Mexico border arrive at their post in southern Arizona today. About 30 citizen soldiers are set to start their new assignment under Operation Copper Cactus. Their job will be to help the Border Patrol with surveillance and serve as a deterrent for anyone trying to sneak across the border from Mexico. President Obama has ordered 1200 National Guard troops to the U.S.-Mexico border, and a total of 532 guardsmen will be deployed to Arizona alone by the end of September.
