Trial of 24 Al-Qaida Members Concluded
[An Nahar] The military court has concluded the trial of 24 al-Qaida members known as the "Bar Elias ring."The suspects, who were arrested in east Lebanon's city of Zahle in 2007, include a Saudi, five Syrians, one Palestinian and two men from Argentine. They were charged with forming an armed gang in an effort to carry out terrorist acts during the battle in Nahr al-Bared and the purchase of a typewriter and computer to forge identities, driving licenses and passports as well as smuggling foreigners between Lebanon and Syria.
