Iran ready to release American hiker accused of spying
 Iran has announced that it is now ready to release an American woman accused of spying. Yesterday Iranian authorities had said that they would release Sarah Shourd, but then suddenly cancelled the plan. There seems to have been a dispute between the judiciary and the presidency in that case. Today, a senior prosecutor says Iran is ready to release her on $500,000 bail. Shourd was arrested with two other Americans when they strayed across the border from Iraq. Iran claims that the equipment they were carrying is only used for spying.
