French police arrest 11 people with suspected Islamic extremists links
FRENCH anti-terror police tonight arrested 11 people suspected of links with Muslim extremists, it has emerged.

Eight men were detained in southern towns and cities of Marseille, Aubagne, Marignane and in Bordeaux on suspicion of trafficking firearms and explosives, news website 20.minutes.fr reported.

According to French news channel LCI, three others were arrested for membership of an extremist group and being part of a cell planning to supply shelter and fake ID papers to Jihadists attempting to return to France after undergoing training on the Afghan-Pakistan border.

The arrests followed the detention on Saturday of a 28-year-old Algerian man, wanted by French police, at a train station in Naples, southern Italy.

He was allegedly carrying a bomb-making kit
and a cell phone and a computer, both no doubt with long contact lists...
and is suspected of being the head of the terror cell.

There have been widespread terror threats across Europe in recent weeks which led to the US State Department issuing a travel warning for the region Sunday.
