Village chief and bodyguard killed in Chechnya
Alvi Valiyev, the head of the village administration and his bodyguard were murdered in Komsomolskoye, Chechnya on Thursday evening, the Interfax news agency has reported. The agency quoted a source at the Gudermes district administration as saying that gunmen opened fire at the Lada car in which Valiyev was driving at 9:45 p.m. killing both two men. Twenty Kalashnikov assault rifle cartridge cases and other material evidence were found at the scene.
