Chihuahua: Former Top State Law Official Accused of Murder
 Google TranslateA video released Monday accuses former Chihuahua state attorney general Patricia Gonzalez of involvement in with La Linea criminal gang in Juarez. Last Thursday, Mario Gonzalez, a private attorney was abducted from his office by an armed group. He was seen in the latest video confessing a nexus between the criminal group La Linea and his sister, Patricia Gonzalez. The confession accuses Gonzalez of providing protection for La Linea and knowledge of several murders in 2009 and was paid a large monthly fee. La Linea is the armed wing of the the Juarez Drug Cartel and is considered to be the most vicious of armed groups in Mexico. La Linea has been involved in a low level public relations war with local gangs affiliated with the Sinaloa Drug Cartel in the last few months. Several times in the last four months "narcografitti" has appeared in Juarez purportedly from both group accusing each other and warning the public about criminal involvement with police. Much of the information provided in that PR battle included accusations by the Sinaloa Drug Cartel that several Chihuahua state and Federal officials were on the payroll of La Linea. It was a La Linea linked hitman, Cristian Rosado, who confessed involvement in the murder of, Sandra Ivonne Salas, an assistant to Gonzalez June 30th. Patricia Gonzalez stepped down from her post in early October following the change of government following the July elections.
