Terrorist flees Mali camp, surrenders in Mauritania
[Magharebia] A young Mauritanian terrorist surrendered to authorities in Timbedra, close to the Mali border, AFP reported on Thursday (November 4th). Izid Bih Ould Mohamed Mahmoud, 30, joined al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb in 2008, and received training in weapons and explosives at a Northern Mali camp. According to security sources, he said he had chosen to "reject a culture of violence in which he saw no future or noble goal".
The recent Nouakchott anti-terror policy forum endorsed clemency measures for bully boyz who lay down arms and denounce violence.
