Village leader shot and wounded in southern Thailand
An assistant village chief in Pattani province was shot and seriously wounded on Saturday. Abdulnasae Baekor, 51, was riding his motorcycle on a village road when two men on anther motorcycle told him to stop. He stopped his vehicle and turned to talk to the two men. The man motorcycle passenger took out a pistol and shot him twice in the head and fled.
