Hamid Gull Helps Taliban, al-Qaeda against Nato: Leaks
[Tolo News] The former head of Pakistain's ISI regularly holds meeting with the Taliban and al-Qaeda commanders to discuss assaults and suicide kabooms in Afghanistan, leaked cables said

But in an interview with the Financial Times, Gen. Hamid Gul
... the nutty former head of Pakistain's ISI, now Godfather to Mullah Omar's Talibs and good buddy and consultant to al-Qaeda's high command...
said the United States of America has organised the leak to put the charges of an early troops exit from Afghanistan on him.

While the leaks accuses the former head of Pakistain's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) of providing support to the Taliban in the fight against insurgency, he has said the US has a secret role behind the disclosures of the WikiLeaks.

"I am a very favourite whipping boy of America. They can't imagine the Afghans can win wars on their own," the Financial Times quoted him as saying. "It would be an abiding shame that a 74-year-old general living a retired life manipulating the Mujahedeen in Afghanistan results in the defeat of America."

Gen. Hamid Gull's name appears in about 10 of 180 US diplomatic cables that accuse ISI of supporting Afghan snuffies fighting Nato forces.

Meanwhile,
...back at the ranch...
some Afghan analysts said Pakistain's spy organisation have always cooperated with the Taliban. They said Pakistain has always sought its interests in a destabilised Afghanistan.

"Still the former head of ISI is involved in these activities and he still has his influence over the Pakistain's military intelligence organisation. They are widely engaged in training and supporting Islamic fascisti who then are sent to Afghanistan," said Noorulhaq Olumi, an Afghan MP.
