Thi-Qar intel chief escapes assassination attempt in Baghdad
 BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Chief of the Thi-Qar Intelligence survived an attempt on his life on Friday, while an army soldier was killed by a sniper in separate incidents in Baghdad, a security source said.Brigadier Ahmad Saleh survived an attempt on his life when gunmen opened fire on him near al-Muthanna airport central Baghdad, the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. The officer was wounded and was carried to the hospital for treatment, he added. A sniper killed a soldier while on duty in al-Biejiya region in al-Mansour neighborhood, western Baghdad, he said.
