Family: Gaza man killed by US bombing in Afghanistan
[Ma'an] A Paleostinian family in Gazoo has received news that their son, Mahmoud Abu Rideh, died a few days ago in a US bombing in Afghanistan.
The man's family, from Bani Sheila - a town east of Khan Younis - heard from friend's of their son that Mahmoud was with a group of 'mujahideen' before the Arclight airstrike.
Abu Rideh had moved to the UK in 1995 and received a residence permit in November 1998.
One of those multiculturals who add such excitement to modern British life... and apparently Afghan life as well. | Some of his family members are British nationals.
After the 9/11 attacks, Abu Rideh was nabbed along with 17 others and he was banned from meeting his family.
It sounds like they thought they had grounds to suspect him of something. Ah, for the days after 9/11 when it wasn't yet necessary to set political correctness before national security. | Ma'an reported at the time that Abu Rideh was nabbed.
Presumably he has been since set free. | His conditions were so severe that he apparently attempted to kill himself three times.
And now he has succeeded. |
