15 wanted men captured near Kirkuk
KIRKUK / Aswat al-Iraq: Fifteen wanted persons were arrested and weapons were seized in crackdown operations in villages in south and southwest of Kirkuk on Monday, according to local police chief.A joint force of Kirkuk Districts Police Department (KDPD) and 12th division of the Iraqi army, backed by U.S. troops, waged operations in villages in al-Zab district, southwest of Kirkuk, where 15 wanted men were arrested in accordance to Article IV Terrorism Law, Brigadier Sarhad Qader told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. The forces seized also amounts of weapons during the operation, he added. A total of 44 wanted and suspected gunmen have been arrested since Dec. 22." Kirkuk is 250 km northeast of Baghdad.
