March 14 Stresses it Would Confront Coup by Protecting People's Lives from Hizbullah's Arms
[An Nahar] The March 14Those are the good guys, insofar as Leb has good guys... general-secretariat said Wednesday that the new opposition's main task was to protect public and private lives from Hizbullah's weapons. Following its weekly meeting, the general-secretariat stressed it would go ahead with its decisions to confront through democratic means the "coup" that was carried out by the March 8 forces ... the opposition to the Mar. 14th movement, consisting of Hizbullah and its allies, so-called in commemoration of their Mar. 8th, 2006 demonstration of strength in Beirut ... when they toppled Caretaker Premier Saad Hariri's government and nominated Najib Miqati as prime minister-designate. The new opposition led by Hariri stressed commitment to the constitution, the Taef accord, the Special Tribunal for Leb and the "protection of public and private lives from Hizbullah's arms which have become engaged in the internal political conflict to guarantee the predominance" of the Shiite party. The statement also accused the March 8 forces led by Hizbullah of using the weapons to implement "regional agendas" in Leb.
