Haniyeh invites Qaradawi to Gaza
[Ma'an] Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh in Gazoo has invited influential Mohammedan scholar Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi to the Strip.
In a phone call on Saturday, Haniyeh congratulated the Egyptian-born holy man on the victory of the revolution which led the the toppling of former leader Hosni Mubarak, a Ma'an correspondent reported.
The Gazoo-based premier thanked Al-Qaradawi for mentioning the Paleostinian struggle, the occupation of Jerusalem and the siege of Gazoo when he addressed crowds in Tahrir Square.
Al-Qaradawi delivered the Friday sermon in central Cairo as hundreds of thousands flocked to the square to celebrate, one week after Mubarak's regime collapsed under a popular revolt.
The sheikh is controversial in some Western nations for his views on Israel and homosexuality.
