Tokyo Electric Power Requests Giant Concrete Pumper from China
A 62-meter truck-mounted concrete pump, used to build some of the worlds tallest skyscrapers, is on its way from China to Fukushima at the personal request of the president of Tokyo Electric Co., or Tepco. The plan is to use the machine to pump water toward Fukushima Daiichi's malfunctioning reactor No. 4.
Suggestions to use concrete pumper trucks to move water into reactor hot spots were made on the internet over a week ago. The machine might also prove very handy in entombing the irrecoverable parts of the reactors.
