Two US Journalists Killed in Libya
MISRATA, Libya - Two US journalists were killed in Libya Wednesday, the Business Insider reported. The website reported that Tim Hetherington -- who was nominated for an Oscar this year with co-director Sebastian Junger for "Restrepo," a documentary about US troops in Afghanistan -- was killed in Misrata along with fellow photojournalist Chris Hondros.The source for the information was Andre Liohn, a fellow photographer who announced the news on his Facebook page. "Sad news Tim Hetherington died in Misrata now when covering the front line. Chris Hondros is in a serious status. Michel Brown and Guy are wounded but fine." Liohn, who claimed to be at a hospital in Misrata, later reported on his feed that Hondros had died. Hondros was a Pulitzer Prize-nominated photojournalist whose work appeared in the New York Times, Newsweek, and the Economist, according to Business Insider. On Tuesday, Hetherington tweeted, "In besieged Libyan city of Misrata. Indiscriminate shelling by Qaddafi forces. No sign of NATO."
