5 Die in Chihuahua

Five individuals were murdered in ongoing drug and gang violence in the Mexican state of Chihuahua, including a wheelchair bound man shot to death at an Oxxo convenience store in Juarez.

  • An unidentified man was found shot Sunday morning in Juarez. The victim was lying on Camino Real near Rosa de los Vientos shot six times.

  • The decapitated body of an unidentified man was found in Namiquipa municipality in Chihuahua Monday. The victim had been shot to death 30 to 45 days before he was found. He was found floating in water near the Tinero dam.

  • A woman was kidnapped by men dressed as Policia Federal officers Monday. Mejia Yadira Garrido, 25, was at her home in the village of Tres Jacales in the Valle Juarz municipality when masked men dragged her away after looting the place. The family of the victim was threatened if they reported the crime. Commander of Policia Federal troops in Ciudad Juarez in a news conference the next day, Raul Avila Ibarra later denied knowledge of the abduction, adding Policia Federal troops do not include Valle Juarez as their area of operation.

  • The home of an imprisoned drug capo was torched Monday. Rodolfo Fierro and Carlos Gurrola of CDP, commander of the Juarez cartel in the Valle Juarez municipality was serving time in prison when the home near the intersection of calles Rodolfo Fierro and Carlos Gurrola in the CDP colony was burned to the ground.

  • An unidentified man was shot tod eath in Juarez Monday morning. The victim had just stepped into his Ford Windstar van near the intersection of calles Fervor Patrio and Sierra Candelaria in the Infonavit Jarudo colony when armed suspects fired on him.

  • A wheelchair bound man was shot to death and an 11 year old girl was wounded in a convenience store in Juarez Monday. Armed suspects entered the Oxxo store near the intersection of calles Paseo de los Gorriones and Paseo Alba in the Paseo Alba colony and shot the victim. The girl was wounded by bullet fragments. Reports say AR-15 assault rifles were used in the attack.

  • An unidentified man was shot to death in Juarez Monday afternoon. The victim was driving his Dodge Ram pickup truck in the Lomas de San José colony when armed suspects initiated a pursuit, and then fired on him killing him. Suspects fired on the victim at least 40 times using 9mm weapons.
