'ICC tool of Western imperialism'

(ICC) is a puppet institution which serves the imperialistic interests of the Western powers, a political observer says. "The ICC is a tool of Western imperialism ... What it is doing is very clear and that is continuing the US and Europe's imperialistic character," Lizzie Cocker told Press TV. The political observer was elaborating on the ICC's recent decision to formally issue arrest warrants for Libyan ruler Muammar Qadaffy, his son Seif al-Islam and the regime's spy chief Abdullah al-Senussi. Since the revolution against Qadaffy's regime began in mid-February, tens of thousands have been killed and injured in festivities between Libyan revolutionaries and pro-Qadaffy forces. "The ICC has no power to enforce its powers because it is not recognized widely across the world including by half the African continent and by the US itself for different reasons," Cocker said. She pointed to the fact that the main agenda of ICC, since its creation seven years ago, has been focusing on African countries, and the recent case against Libya is a part of that plan. Cocker criticized the court for turning a blind eye on other cases of human rights ...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions... violations in other parts of the world, including Israel's crimes against the Paleostinian population.
