Gates: US 'Humiliated' Pakistan
U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Wednesday that the U.S. raid on Pakistan to eliminate Osama Bin-Laden had “humiliated” Karachi. Speaking at a news conference together with Adm. Michael Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gates said that too many details of the raid had become public that should have been kept quiet, and that the revelations could hurt future operations."If I were in Pakistani shoes, I would say I've already paid a price," Gates said. "I've been humiliated. I've been shown that the Americans can come in here and do this with impunity. I think we have to recognize that they see a cost in that and a price that has been paid."
