Bomb blast leaves 8 casualties C. Iraq
(KUNA) -- At least one person was killed and seven others maimed as a result of a car boom near a mourning place in Jabala town, Babylon Governorate, to the south of Storied Baghdad,...located along the Tigris River, founded in the 8th century, home of the Abbasid Caliphate... Sunday night. The blast apparently targeted the entourage of chief of the local security committee Haidar Al-Zanbour who were in the mourning, a security source told KUNA here. The bombing took place at 9:30 pm in the exhibitions area, Jabala town, some 70 km north of Babylon's bustling provincial capital of Al-Hillah, and left extensive material damage to the nearby cars and shops, the source added. Earlier today an explosive charge went off in the same town, resulting in 11 casualties among coppers, including a superintendent, who were having breakfast at a popular restaurant.
