Jeddah woman detained for violating driving ban
 JEDDAH: A police patrol arrested a woman driving a car in the Sulaimaniya district in south Jeddah on Tuesday.Police started looking for the woman after they got a call from a citizen saying he saw her driving. The man added that the driver did not cover her face. The drivers brother was also traveling in the car. The two have been handed to the Jamia police and investigations are under way. According to police sources, the woman started driving from a north Jeddah neighborhood. A number of women were caught driving over the last few weeks since the arrest of Manal Al-Sharif who drove a car in Alkhobar on May 21. Seven other women have been arrested since then. Women also organized a campaign on June 17 to legalize women driving in the Kingdom.
