Iraqis Protest Against Shiâite Militia in Najaf
Reuters. EFL.Hundreds of Iraqis marched in Najaf Tuesday calling on militant cleric Moqtada al-Sadr to withdraw his fighters from the Shiâite holy city. It was the biggest and most public display yet of mounting local exasperation with an uprising launched last month against the U.S. occupation and follows a U.S. crackdown on Sadrâs Mehdi Army, which says it plans to open up new fronts in its war.
