Aircraft Bomb Dry Run At Sky Harbor Only Labeled 'Hoax', 3 Arrested
Three African "refugees" have been arrested after an elaborate scheme to put a pseudo-bomb on an aircraft was detected by Sky Harbor Airport security.A TSA employee discovered a cellphone attached to a container holding an as yet unidentified organic material while performing a security check on carry-on bags. The Phoenix Police Department's bomb squad and the Fire Department's hazardous-materials crew determined the device was not capable of exploding nor toxic enough to represent a serious threat. The owner of the device, Luwiza Daman, 51, told investigators that an acquaintance had given her the device and asked her to deliver it to an unknown person in Des Moines, Iowa. Later, investigators found a second person they believe was involved in the incident, Shullu Gorado, 25. Gorado told them he gave the device to Daman after a third person, Shani Asa, 34, gave it to him. Investigators then located Asa, who admitted he attached the cellphone to the container housing the organic material and gave the device to Gorado.
