Vast tunnel network could make Col Gaddafi harder to find
Gaddafi oversaw the construction of hundreds of miles of tunnels and bomb proof bunkers that connect many of his compounds and key buildings.Criss-crossing beneath Tripoli, Gaddafi and his trusted aides were able to move around the city undetected even from the air. A vast complex of tunnels stretches out under the desert and connects many of Libya's key towns and cities. In unrelated news, the 9th Iranian Tunnelling Symposium is scheduled for November 2011.
