IJT men threaten PU officials
[Dawn] Islami Jamiat Tulaba activists on Saturday threatened officials of the  Punjab University administration of dire consequences during a meeting at the PU Emergency Centre which was in progress to discuss security issues.Senior administrative officials and faculty members were present in the meeting. According to a news release issued by a PU front man, IJT hooligans Atif Gujjar, Haris and Tayyab along with some 35 accomplices managed to enter the meeting room and started threatening varsity officials. He alleged that IJT activists threatened to kill all security guards of the university. He said the IJT activists, who were standing outside the Emergency Centre, were carrying weapons, rods and batons. IJT activists left the place but returned after half-an-hour and said they had learnt that the university administration was planning to register an FIR against labourers and students. They threatened that officials should be ready to face the consequences. The front man said the PU Core Committee had already appealed to Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of Jamiat`s negative activities on university campus and protect its peaceful academic environment. Star-A-Star had struck again... the IJT Punjab front man said PU Resident Officer-I Javed Samee had called six IJT leaders for a dialogue with regard to Jamiat`s three-day All Pakistain General Convention, but security guards tortured them at his behest.
