Massachusetts terror suspect due in court
A man accused of plotting to kill US troops in Iraq is due in court for a final hearing before his trial starts. Tarek Mehanna is scheduled to go on trial on October 24 on charges that include providing material support to terrorists.Mehanna stands accused of going to Yemen to train in a terrorist camp, and translating a publication named "39 Ways to Serve and Participate in Jihad." His lawyers claim his activities amount to free speech. Mehanna's final status conference is scheduled on Thursday in US District Court. Mehanna's lawyers asked a judge to suppress files allegedly found on his computers, including a video of the mutilation of dead American soldiers in Iraq, in motions filed last week.
