Too sick to work: One in eight defendants either on incapacity or disability benefit
Almost one in eight of those accused of involvement in the summer riots were claiming disability or sickness benefits.Official figures showed 12 per cent of the suspects hauled before the courts were on incapacity benefit or disability living allowance.
