The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for all five boroughs of New York City, predicting 2 to 4 inches of snow by tonight. If the forecast materializes, it would shatter the record in NYC for October -- 0,8 inches fell in before Halloween in 1925 in the year that still sits atop the weather statistics.
